54. Next phase is closing in.
I feel like we are on the cusp of the next phase. Weaning is sort of happening. They are definitely interested in food and have a good go at trying everything I give them. Even if most of it ends up on the floor or in their laps.
Babies from our baby groups are starting to sleep through now too. We have been talking about how we go about it for a few weeks now as Jack was sleeping through by 6 months. We have taken a few tips from mums, plus our experience with Jack, and we are going to start trying to get the ball rolling. Dummies are still a bit of an issue. Will and Rob now look for theirs, but they are often lying on them and can't find them. My first attempt to fix this is going to be dummy clips. The problem that may arise is them playing with the strap. Like all babies, they absolutely love tags and labels, so the dummy strap is the dream for them.
I have spoken to a triplet friend and hers dropped their night feeds a few weeks ago! We are behind!
Me.
It's time for me time now. They, and we, are in a good routine now, so I am going to get booked onto an aerial class each week. An evening a week where I can go out, on my own, for an hour! I do an aerial class in the week with the babies, which I absolutely love, but to be on my own and focus on what I am doing will be lovely.
My back and shoulders are really taking a pummelling now. The endless stooping is taking its toll, but aerial is my weekly excuse to stretch and strengthen my body, so I am able to continue with this crazy life. I do try and do a little at home, but it's only ever for a minute or two, because there is always an interruption or something that needs doing first. The second class a week will either make me feel amazing, or kill me off completely!
I had a day out on my own on Saturday to get Christmas and Jack's birthday shopping started. It was so great to not have to plan my day around feeds, changes, weaning and a walk. Just walk and drive around, and get lunch when we fancied it. It was lovely!
I have just found out that my dad has bought me a few months of classes at the aerial lounge starting in December! It is already spurring me on to eat a bit better and to think about my strength. I can't wait!!
On the move.
The babies are really moving now. Robin moves at reasonable speed, still on his belly and face a lot, but he is crawling intermittently. He makes his way out of the room and turns, grins and makes really proud noises for us. The other two still roll everywhere, but are starting to show signs of crawling skills now. It won't be long until they are following me around!!
Rob is a good step ahead of the other two, but the other two are much better with their hands I have noticed.
Cutback excitement.
The awful, overgrown path I wrote about a couple of blogs back, has started to be cleared!! Lancashire County Council rejected my report, but the lady I spoke to resubmitted it for me with some more photos I had sent her. I wrote to Sabden Parish Council again (they hadn't recieved my first email in the summer), and told them the whole story, they discussed it at their meeting the following day, and 48 hours later, they started clearing it!! I can now comfortably get the pram down the pavement. It still needs some clearing, but it's simply fantastic!!!
Characters.
All three of them are really establishing strong characters. Jack has always been funny, and if he gets a laugh, you hear the same line, or see the same stunt repeatedly!
All three of these are showing little Jack traits. William is really expressive and pulls the most hilarious faces, especially when he is having a good chatter or sing song. Sam never stops smiling and laughs at every little thing. Proper little belly giggles. And Robin watches and really focuses when he tells a tale. All three are incredibly layed back, and happily sit and watch, play with a toy, or just chill. They absolutely love to be out, whether it's in the pram, in the car, or at somebody's house and they are all natterboxes and love to make themselves known.
They all live up to their names fantastically. Sam is still Smiley, Will is still Chill, and Robin is stick Rockin!
Teething in sync.
The boys had another horrible flare up the other night. Will started, so I gave him calpol, then an hour later, the other 2 hit the roof. I asked on the triplet page if their babies seemed to have flare ups together, and if their teeth came through at about the same time. I had 4 replies very quickly, saying they did!! How bizarre!!
